"I like to represent the domestic space, interiors of my home and interiors of other people’s houses, in which I lived for a short period of time. These places are permeated by a feeling of emptiness, an atmosphere of void. The recognition that something is lacking is what activates and moves us towards the research of meaning."

Cecilia Tagliabue (b. 1996) is an Italian artist based between Italy and France. After graduating from Brera Academy in Milan with a BFA in Painting, she continued her education in Nice where she studied Fine Arts at the Villa Arson, Centre National d’Art Contemporain et École Nationale Supérieure d’Art. Cecilia’s work displays everyday objects, well known places and household spaces, unmade and rebuilt, shown in an uncommon way. Cecilia believes ordinary life environments need to be newly examined and observed  to produce fresh feelings and perceptions. Her work investigates the artistic potentialities that domestic spaces offer through different media and techniques such as photography, painting and collage. She lives and works between Nice, Côte d'Azur and Milan, Italy.
